Welcome to Alaska Sports Photography Sports Photography Alaska Sports Photography offers a full spectrum of photographic coverage of sporting events. In particular, we cover the Alaska Nanooks of the University of Alaska Fairbanks - Div I hockey and Div II Men's and Women's basketball and Women's volleybally extensively. We also do UAF's teams and individuals (T&I) and other sports related events at the university. We provide complimemtary game images to the UAF Director of Media Relations. Starting December Alaska Sports Photo images will be available through this site and a university related site. The one difference between the sites is that www.alaskasportsphot.photoreflect.com will contain "unprocessed images" of games etc along with a smaller selection of fully processed images. The UAF site will contain fully processed images ready for printing by a 3rd party provider. We typically take between 200-450 images of most events. Obviously, given uncertain demand we are not able to process all usable images but want to make parents, loved ones and friends aware of a much wider selection of images. Hence, in addition to finished images we will make available for review the "unprocessed images" which will be between 40-100 high quality color balanced images. Starting shortly ( about the January 1st, 2010 we will keep the www.alaskasportsphoto.photoreflect.com solely for university teams and events. At that time www.alaskasportsphoto.photoreflect .com will be primarily targeted to the family and friends of UAF athletes and to UAF coaches. I have established a related site www.alaskaeventphoto.photoreflect to be the site for all other events we cover - games, events etc. with the exception of the Fairbanks Grizzlies which can be found at: www.fairbanksgrizzlies.photoreflect.com You will find a few examples of our sports coverage at www.alaskasportsphoto.photoreflect.com and at www.fairbanksgrizzlies.photoreflect.com and at www.alaskaeventphoto.photoreflect.com SERVICES We can provide web quality images for immediate use on school and corporate websites for game stories and event summaries. When required, this can be done in real time as the game or event unfolds. Fairbanks Grizzlies football (IFL) We have recently expanded the sports we cover. Alaska Sports Photography is now the official team photographer to the newly formed Fairbanks Grizzlies of the XXX league. The XXX is in it's fourth season. there are other league team in Anchorage (Alaska Wild) and Wasilla. We provide limited coverage of the team's pre-season activities but we anticipate covering all games at home and perhaps one or more games within Alaska . We typically provide a full range of pre-game activities - the many tailgate parties - game images, dance team and spectator images through www.fairbanksgrizzlies.photoreflect.com To speed access to game photos we will place excellent but unprocessed up on the web within 24 hours of the game. TECHNICAL NOTE: We use Elinchrom strobes (RX 600 WS strobes) to capture almost all images taken in the Patty and now in the Carlson Arena. We have equipped the Carlson Center with 7 RX 600WS strobes that will greatly improve the quality and color of images taken in those 2 venues. Motor Sports We have also covered motor sports beginning with the 2-day timed motorcycle race sponsored by the Fairbanks Racing Lions Augus 2007, an effort we will re-start in 2010 continue in 2008. Having been brought up with two brothers who had racing in their blood - stock and dragster - it felt good to be covering an exciting area of motor sports. We provided 10 race and environmental photos to accompany the article by Brian Childree that was published in the Nov/Dec '07 issue of Road Racer X. Images of the 2-day race event can be found at www.alaskaeventphoto.photoreflect.com We are open to covering similar events. Event Photography As indicated above we do cover events for corporations and clubs such as receptions, dinners, installation etc. These images (select images) can be made available in real time or, if speed is not of the essence unprocessed images are made available for editorial review or purchase within 24-48 hours on the www.alaskaeventphoto.photoreflect.com website. Recent examples of events we have covered are North Star Ballet's perofrmances of The Nutcracker and the competition of the An example of this photography is the Air Force Association's Reception for the US Air Force Thunderbirds held in Fairbanks June 2008. We can provide high quality prints quickly (up to 13"x19") and larger prints ( up to 8 ft by 16 ft.) working with another professional lab. We done 2 special projects recently. We've photographed the Spring event and the Fall 2009 Nutcracker for the North
Star Ballet the first part of December. We made over 2,700 images and expect to post between 500-1,200 of the images by December 25th 2009. We have just completed a project for the State of Alaska, DOTPF, through a subcontract with Information insights, a Fairbanks corporation. As part of that project we photographed all the state's scenic Byways traveling over 4,000 miles and taking 2,000+ images.
